Portugal

Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, and Porto!

Lisbon:

I don’t have enough amazing things to say about Lisbon. This city very much surprised me. I kept saying that it seemed like a perfect blend between San Francisco and Mexico City. It was beautiful, clean, and had a lot of fun bars and restaurants.

We stayed at Hotel Borges right in the heart of Lisbon. It was a great location and the rooms were roomy.

We did a lot of snack foods, but we did stop at A Cevicheria and I would highly recommend getting lunch here!

Sintra and Cascais:

We spent a full day exploring Sintra and Cascais. To get to Sintra, we took an uber. It was incredibly affordable and took you to the very top entrance to Pena Palace. We decided to uber because we had an tour that took us down to a private beach in the afternoon. Pena Palace is beautiful but I would definitely recommend getting there super early so you can get better photos!

As for our tour, we booked the Sunset Hike, Tapas, and Wine at Secret Beach tour through Flamingo Experiences. This was such a fun and unique way to spend the afternoon in Portugal, try some tapas, and watch the sunset!

Porto:

After spending a few days in Lisbon, we took the train up to Porto. The train was about 3 hours and super easy. In Porto, we stayed Hotel do Porto. Truthfully, I would not recommend this hotel. It was small, the beds were uncomfortable, and it wasn’t in the greatest location. I would definitely recommend staying close to the river next time!

For the two days we were in Porto, we headed down to the river and tasted Port wines. This was such a fun way to try some new wines and it was very casual.

For dinner, we ate at two phenomenal restaurants. We ate at Tapabento and Elemento. Highly recommend!
