Welp, yesterday was August 1st. I can’t believe that we only have one more month of summer before it’s time to head back to the classroom. I also can’t believe that I am still as pale as I was during the winter.

I don’t believe in going to the beach and baking outside all day for a good tan. Growing up, my mom continuously told me to put on sunscreen and to protect my skin. Why? Because she didn’t do that and constantly regrets the damage she has done to her skin during her youth. Plus, I’m a natural redhead and tanning just isn’t in my DNA. My natural shades go from one extreme to the other – either I’m pasty white or I’m a lobster. Since I”m not going to be tanning outside or in a booth, I result to the wonderful world of fake tanners.

When I first started looking at fake tanner, it was definitely overwhelming. There are hundreds of types out there and I didn’t really know where to start. After experimenting, I discovered that some fake tanners are great and actually do what they are supposed to do, and some simply just are not. And trust me, I’ve been an Oompa Loompa one too many times.

Before I get into the fake tanners you can apply at home, I first want to tell you about Bronzed Bunny. Bronzed Bunny is an organic airbrush tanning salon and their product is absolutely amazing. When my sister was getting married, she trusted this salon to spray her the evening before the big day because it’s just THAT good. In fact, I went last night to get tanned with my two best friends for a bachelorette party. Their California locations are in Costa Mesa, Dana Point, and Studio City. They also have some other locations in different states to check out their website!

Now, since I understand not everyone has time to go to a spray tanning salon or there might not be a reliable one in their city, here are my TOP 2 apply at home tanners. If you have one you couldn’t live without, comment below and let me know!

Lancome Flash Bronzer: This bronzer creates a great color and it’s easy to apply. When I apply this tanner, I like to put on gloves so I don’t get creases in my hands.

Tan Physics: This one is a great tan if you’re wanting to put it on and get out the door. It looks great if you apply multiple layers and it dries super quickly. It also doesn’t smell too bad!
