Growing up, I was always told to never dye my hair. In fact, I tried on multiple occasions (not because I didn’t like the color, but because I wanted to have fun) and my hairdressers refused to. That’s why I’ve had massive FOMO (fear of missing out) during this summers colored hair trend. Every time I open my Instagram account, someone has awesome pink, purple, blue, ect. hair and I’ve just been sitting over in my blog world turning green with envy.

So no, I did not dye my hair blue (or green.) But I did hunt down some hair chalk so I can pretend to be on this dye trend! Chalking my hair wasn’t exactly easy, and it was certainly messy, but I had fun with my colored highlights until it was time to rinse them out.

If you’re interested in chalking your hair – here’s my tips!
1. Be mindful of the color of your hair – I actually bought a blue hair chalk but since I have red hair, it looks more green than blue.
2. It’s messy. Do not wear a shirt you like while chalking.
3. If you want the chalk to last for a bit – spray it with hair spray so it will last.
4. Make sure your hair is dry, styled, and a little dirty while chalking. It’s not easy to style your chair once you’re done.
5. If you don’t know what type of chalk to use – I used this one!
