If you’ve been thinking about scheduling some appointments for Botox or facials, stop now. Scientists out of Cambridge, England are creating a chocolate bar that has promising results – like healthy and smooth skin – all in one bite.
This magical chocolate bar is one of the Biotech company, Lycotec’s, newest projects. This treat, dubbed the Esterchoc, is called the “world’s first beauty chocolate” and is set to be released in March after 10 years of research and medical trials.
The creator, Dr. Ivan Petyaev, told the Telegraph that the 7.5g bar contains the same amount of antioxidant astaxanthin as an Alaskan salmon fillet, in addition to free-radial fighting cocoa polyphenols as 100g of dark chocolate.
Petyaev said:
“We’re using the same amount of antioxidant that keep goldfish gold and flamingos pink. In clinical trials, we saw the inflammation in the skin starting to go down and the tissue began to benefit.”
“We used people in the 50s and 60s and in terms of skin biomarkers we found it had brought skin down to the levels of a 20 or 30-year-old.”
Well, to me this sounds too good to be true. But hey, it’s only 38 calories, so might as well try, right?
